CAEP Offers Business VisaS

CAEP has a new program to offer in partnership with Global Outreach.  Business Visas!!!

Interested in learning about business or agribusiness while in the United States?

Description:

Global Outreach, (GO) now offers paid internship positions in the United States for a variety of business positions. We work with many different businesses to match your learning needs with an employer "host" who can offer you a paid position, while  learning by doing.

The GO Business Professionals Program is an opportunity to gain valuable training, learn more about different cultures, strengthen communication skills, and improve employment opportunities in his/her home country. As a GO trainee, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different cultures and the business techniques used in different countries.

Maybe you wish to combine your agriculture experience with a business experience.  We can do it!  For example, working with a winery doing the fall harvest, then moving to the tasting room for hospitality.

We are currently taking applications for the hospitality and resort industry for 2009!

Other opportunities include:

·     Business Administration and Management
·     General Merchandising and Sales
·     Hospitality and Recreation Administration/Management
·     Resort Management
·     Customer Service Management and Operations

Trainee” positions must involve a training plan which shows a progression of responsibility in the organization (or at minimum, a lateral movement to allow for the trainee to experience different aspects of the organization).  For example, as a hospitality trainee, you could start in a hotel as a housekeeper, move to front desk attendant, then to bookkeeping, etc.  Another position could be starting in a winery tasting room, working in the cellar during crush and then assisting with marketing the wine later.  A third possibility could be working at an implement dealership as a custodian, move up to parts, then to sales. Trainees can be placed for up to 18 months.

“Interns” must be placed in a position which corresponds with their educational plans and academic field.  They do not need to be placed in a “progressive” position.  For example, a marketing student could be placed in a sales representative position.  A finance student could be placed as a bank teller. Interns have a maximum stay of 12 months.
